How To Enable JavaScript and Cookies On Your Browser

Section 1: Enabling JavaScript

 

NOTE: Macs running Internet Explorer versions less than 6.0 or Netscape versions less than 5.0 are NOT supported for JavaScript. 


Microsoft Internet Explorer

IE 6.x

  1. Tools
  2. Internet Options
  3. Security Tab
  4. Custom Level (Button)
  5. Scroll to SCRIPTING section
    • Use Radio button select of Enable or Disable to turn JavaScript support on or off

 


IE 5.5

  1. Tools
  2. Internet Options
  3. Security Tab
  4. Custom Level (Button)
  5. Scroll to SCRIPTING section
    • Use Radio button select of Enable or Disable to turn JavaScript support on or off

 


IE 5.0

  1. Tools
  2. Internet Options
  3. Security Tab
  4. Custom Level (Button)
  5. Scroll to SCRIPTING section
    • Use Radio button select of Enable or Disable to turn JavaScript support on or off

 


Netscape Browsers

 

NOTE: Pre-Netscape 4.5 Browsers are NOT Supported for JavaScript Netscape 4.5

 

Netscape 7.x 

  1. Edit
  2. Preferences
  3. Double click Advanced
  4. Select Scripts & Plug-in
  5. The following two boxes must have checkmarks for JavaScript to be supported:
    • Open a link in a new window
    • Raise or lower windows
  1. It is strongly recommended that the user simply place a checkmark in the Navigator box.

 


 

Netscape 6.x

  1. Edit
  2. Preferences
  3. Advanced
  4. Place a check mark in the Enable Java box
  5. Place a check mark in the Enable JavaScript for Navigator box

 


Netscape 4.x

  1. Edit
  2. Preferences
  3. Advanced (link on left Nav of Preferences)
  4. Check the following:
    • Enable Java
    • Enable Style Sheets

 


 

Mozilla Browsers 1.0.1

 

NOTE: Pre-Mozilla 1.0.1 Browsers are NOT Supported for JavaScript Mozilla 1.0.1

  1. Edit
  2. Preferences
  3. Double click Advanced
  4. Select Scripts & Plug-in

Section 2: Enabling Cookies

 

 

Microsoft Internet Explorer

IE Version 6.X

 

  1. Go to Tools on top of browser 
  2. Choose Internet Options 
  3. Click on the Security tab 
  4. Default setting is medium. Move the slider to determine which setting you prefer. (Do not select maximum)
  5. You can also click on Advanced for more specific cookie settings. 
  6. Scroll down to Cookies in the list and choose either: Enable or Prompt 
  7. Scroll down to Allow per-session cookies (not stored) in the list and choose either: 
  8. Enable or Prompt before accepting cookies 
  9. Press OK 
  10. Press Apply Press OK

 


IE Version 5.X 

  1. Go to Tools on top of browser 
  2. Choose Internet Options 
  3. On bottom of list, go to Security tab
  4. Choose the Internet content zone 
  5. Choose Custom Level 
  6. Scroll down to Cookies in the list and choose either: Enable or Prompt 
  7. Scroll down to Allow per-session cookies (not stored) in the list and choose either: 
  8. Enable or Prompt before accepting cookies 
  9. Press OK 
  10. Press Apply 
  11. Press OK

 


IE Version 4.X 

  1. Go to View on top of browser 
  2. Choose Internet Options on bottom of list 
  3. Go to Advanced tab on far right Scroll down to Cookie box in list Choose either:
  4. Always accept cookies or Prompt before accepting cookies 
  5. Press OK
